It's been a few months since I've had the pleasure of working on a logo design, and although I adore weddings with all my heart, I have to say I've missed being involved in the creation of a corporate identity that needs to reflect not only the business, but also the person behind it.

So I was thrilled to have the chance to catch up with Lara a few weeks ago and to learn about her plans for her new business. Lara and I used to be neighbours in another life when I hadn't yet even had a thought about being a designer - catching up with her after that many years and learning all there is to know about her life now and her new endeavours was a wonderful thing.

Lara was fantastic to work with - she has so much passion behind her ideas and I wanted to reflect this as much as possible in her logo. So I started off experimenting with vivid colours to reflect that drive, settling in the end on a bright orange. Lara's business, Graduate Careers Consulting, is all about supporting students as they make the transition through graduation into employment. Having trained extensively in graduate mentoring and driven by her own experiences as a graduate, Lara's passion and expertise are a fantastic combination in assisting students through this stage of their lives. Her business is all about students' development, exploration and success, and this is what I drew upon in designing her graphic mark. A lot of free-flowing lines were used to create movement that reflected a student's sense of achievement in reaching their goals.   

I'm looking forward to many more corporate projects like this one in the future!
