A Krafty Little Booklet

It's been awhile since I've posted anything on my poor neglected blog - what with it being wedding season and with Christmas just around the corner, things are getting very busy in my little corner of the world. Not to mention the fact that for some reason I've decided that now is a good time to try to sell our house - cue the frantic cleaning, fixing and decorating, open houses, working with real-estate agents and general stress!

All that aside, I'm really excited about the latest project I have to share with you - beautiful kraft notebooks designed for Bells N Whistles Events. Jen from Bells N Whistles came up with this brilliant concept to provide engaged couples with a sweet and convenient way to keep track of all the preparations for their wedding. The notebooks have a double-page dedicated to each wedding category, from florists to photographers, with lots of space for brides and grooms to jot down those all-important notes. To say that Jen is a wonderwoman is an understatement - in amongst that very busy life of hers, she's managed to come up with yet another lovely idea to help couples as they plan for their wedding, and I feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to bring it to fruition.

Design-wise, this booklet was a joy to create - it was so much fun working with the Bells N Whistles team to come up with something that was both pretty and practical. Jen had decided from the outset that she wanted the book to be a little rough around the edges, so instead of using clean lines and fonts, we went for a stamped look, playing with the Bells N Whistles logo and until it looked like it had been hand-stamped, rather than printed on. The 'stamped' logo was also adapted for use as the category title for each of the double-page spreads, and an old type-writer font was used for contact details and body text to really add that old-world rustic feel.

Stay tuned for more projects to come!
